A Typical Day

A Typical Day

I believe routine is important for a child to feel secure in their environment. In the morning the children generally have breakfast, followed by free play whilst we prepare for the school run. For those on a full day or after school I have many and varied activities. I have books, toys, equipment, resources and theme-based activities to stimulate development in all age groups. We also visit toddler/play groups and childrens centres. Some parents like their school age children to complete homework after school, whilst some children just like to relax after a long day at school. If time and weather permits, a trip to the local playground  may also take place after school.

Below is an example of a typical day, our days are flexible to met the needs of the children and as such will change to accomodate nap times and snack times where necessary. The toddler activity sessions and group times will also vary accordingly.

Activities

  • I will  vary the activities so that the children will have the opportunity to explore many new and different things, whilst also giving them time to learn to play with others and by themselves. I will encourage children to help in setting and clearing the table at mealtimes and to tidy up after activities.
  • In order to offer a range of social experiences other sessions may include:
  • Baby Toddler Sessions
  • Childminder Drop In Groups
  • Singing or Dancing Groups
